WHITE ALUMINA/GLASS BEAD BLEND
White Alumina is a high purity fused aluminum oxide (also called White Fused Aluminum Oxide, WFA, or White Corundum). This iron-free blasting medium is angular and very hard. It has a powerful abrasive effect on the surface being blasted. It has a Mohs hardness of 9, which is only surpassed by diamonds. The White Alumina is 99%+ pure and does not leave any ferrous deposits on the substrate as Brown Alumina can.
Crushed Glass is made from 100% recycled glass. It stands out as a versatile, eco-friendly, and cost- effective option for a wide range of blasting applications. It generates low dust and contains no detectable free silica, making it a safer alternative for manufacturing, construction, or marine industry workers, and excelling in automotive, fiberglass, hobby, and soda blast alternative applications. It is non-hazardous, non-toxic and completely inert, so it is safe to use around water. Blending the Crushed Glass with the White Alumina produces a custom performance blend that is excellent at removing tough deposits/rust yet provides a lighter finish to clean/whiten the substrate. It combines one of the hardest abrasives with one of the best surface prep abrasives to form an almost unbeatable product for surface prep.
Pure Impact can eliminate having to blast with 2 different abrasives separately and reduces the amount of final prep needed on the surface. This can ultimately save time and money for any shop. In addition, by blending these abrasives, the overall cost per pound can be reduced as compared with straight White Alumina. It can also be recycled, which can further reduce costs.
